This name originates from Bulgaria. It is part of the Bulgaria Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
The rocky peak rising to 2250 m in Owen Ridge, the southernmost portion of the main ridge of Sentinel Range in Ellsworth Mountains. Situated 3.67 km SSE of Mount Inderbitzen, 3.9 km W by N of Marze Peak in Petvar Heights, 3.1 km N of Lishness Peak, and 21.1 km ENE of Bergison Peak in Bastien Range. Overlooking lower Nimitz Glacier to the SW and upper Wessbecher Glacier to the NE. US mapping in 1961 and 1988. Named after the ancient and medieval fortress of Peristera in Southern Bulgaria.
